Torg has always been one of my favorite game settings. I've often described it as 'The best game you've never played'. Savage Worlds has quickly become one of my favorite game systems, as it's mantra of 'Fast Furious Fun' is exactly what I want out of a game these days. It seemed like a match made in heaven.
A quick visit over to Savage Heroes (always my first stop when staring on a new Savage Worlds game) found me HawaiianBrian's Savage Torg doc which was all the convincing I needed to get this game on the road. I can't say I'll be using everything right out of the document, but I'm going to be leaning very heavily on it, to be certain.
This site will serve as a place to store my notes regarding the game, as well as a way to pass information on to the players who will all be new to gaming during the Reality Wars. I'll be taking a bit of license with the world of Torg, as I'm setting the game in the current day... well the near now anyway, a mere six months after the first Maelstrom Bridge touched down.
The first step will be to make a pool of characters to let players select from for an introduction game.

I'm happy that you liked my conversion! It's been a labor of love for a while now, as you can probably tell. :) I'm hoping to get my current gaming group to start a Savage Torg campaign later this year (first we're going to do something called "The Summer of One-Shots").
ReplyDeleteI'd be interested to know what aspects of the document you founds strongest and what you plan to not use at all. I know that the new realms and some of the changes to old realms are probably the most controversial; every discussion I see online about Torg eventually devolves into what changes the writer would make to the realms line-up. Some are radical (eliminate all the existing realms and start with entirely new ones), some are faithful (have everything be exactly the same as it was upon the game's first launch), and everything in between.
The realms line-up I included is, admittedly, mainly out of my own tastes and has to do with my own campaign. What do you plan to do?
